It all happened relatively suddenly. Kent and I attended the Global Missions Health Conference in November and had prayed before-hand that we would receive some clear word from God through His Spirit about where He is leading us. And, as always, He was faithful. He pointed us quite clearly toward a mission hospital in Liberia. We met many people who affirmed this, including (perhaps most influentially) a doctor named Rick who has been serving at that hospital for many years. He and Kent had a real connection and we have since had many conversations with Rick and Debbie, his wife, about our future together at ELWA Hospital near Monrovia. We have a great peace about this decision, and are now in resettlement mode. If anyone wants to help me "store" books or toys or furniture, I am looking for homes for all of it. ALL of it!
I apologize for all the linkage. I wanted to include them for anyone who wants to investigate further. Liberia has a very interesting history, and we are eager to know and work alongside its people. We are being sent and largely supported by World Medical Mission, a branch of Samaritan's Purse. Below you will find an interactive map (thanks, Google!) of our future home. Zoom out (minus sign on the left) to see just how near the ocean we are and zoom out farther to see where we are in relation to the rest of the continent.
